# Getting To Know CMU Zoom

## What is CMU Zoom? <a href="#cmu-zoom" id="cmu-zoom"></a>

Zoom is a program for teaching or meeting through Video Conference, involving around scheduling precise appointments and notifying participants in advance. It works well with calendar systems and learning management systems such as KC-Moodle.

## Zoom Highlights <a href="#cmu-zoom" id="cmu-zoom"></a>

Zoom is well known for:

* Quality and stability of image and sound
* Esay to use
* Organization support such as meeting participants report and logging in using organizational account such as CMU Account
* Recording images and sounds of meetings
* Enhanced capabilities that can be used, such as connecting remote meeting devices that support H.323/SIP standards

## Zoom for Chiang Mai University

* Zoom Basic - Zoom can be used for free according to the terms of Zoom Basic, which has only a limitation on meeting time not exceeding 40 minutes. Otherwise, almost all other features of Zoom can be used.<br>
* Zoom Pro - Chiang Mai University has purchased 150 Zoom Pro licenses for pilot use in 2019.  <br>
* Terms of use for Zoom Pro at Chiang Mai University - Requesting to use Zoom Pro must be done in advance. However, if any user does not access the service for more than 30 days, the Pro plan will be reduced to Basic plan until requesting Pro plan again. In addition, before requesting to use Zoom Pro, the user must undergo basic Zoom training (this course) first.
