# Upload Files

## Getting Started with the Upload Files Menu

&#x20;         You can upload folders or files and later organize or store the data into various folders. You can also choose to create a folder first and then upload data into the folder you have created.

To upload file(s), go to 'File' menu, and it will display as ilustrated below.

**The Files menu will include these following sections:**

1. Search for files to find the files you need.
2. &#x20;<img src="/files/-MZMk1Adw5AJZ7MCTxyT" alt="" data-size="original"> button to upload the desired file.&#x20;
3. &#x20;<img src="/files/-MZMjxpXh3HGfl5TqNZI" alt="" data-size="original"> button to create folder for easier data management or categorization.
4. The file upload box (Drop files here to upload or choose files) allows you to click to select your file location or drag your files to the area within the dotted line to upload your files or folders.
5. The details of the folder created will include:
   1. Folder name
   2. Date of creation
   3. Date of modification
   4. Modified by
   5. Size (occupied capacity)
6. The capacity of the storage space (limited to 524.3 MB).
7. All My Files (files from every course you have).

## Creating Folders for Organizing Data.

&#x20;         After creating the folders, it will display as shown below.

&#x20;     You can choose to sort data by folder name, the date and time of creation, or the date and time of modification, by clicking on those headings.

## Viewing All Files Uploaded in CMU Canvas

### 1. Click on "All My Files"

### 2. The window will be shown as illustrating.

&#x20;         **In the left column,** all available folders will be displayed.

&#x20;         **In the right column,** subfolders and file details will be shown.
