Assignment

Creating assignments helps enhance students' understanding and can be used to collect grades from submitted work (able to submit files, images, text, URLs, and various media).

Getting Started with Assignment

Go to Assignment

The tools bar on the home page of the assignment will have the following main tools.

You can search the assignments here.

Click to create the group you want as an example, create groups named Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3. You can specify different details of the Assignment in each group.

Click to create a new assignment with quite detailed settings, which will be explained in the next section.

There are subheadings such as Edit Assignment Dates for you to edit all assignment deadlines at once, and Assignment Groups Weight as shown in the image.

Assignment Settings

1. Name the assignment

For example: Assignment 1

2. Fill in the directions

For example: Summarize chapter 1.

3. Assignment Grading

There are three parts including:

  1. Points or scores for the assignment can be set by entering the desired number in the field.

  2. Assignment Group If you have grouped students (Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3), you can choose which group to assign the assignment to. It is recommended to select assignments as shown in the example image to assign the assignment to all students in the course.

  3. Assignments Display Grade as For the assignment, you can choose to display grades in various formats as shown in the image. The recommended format is the points format.

4. Submission Conditions

You can choose from 4 types of submission type, with the recommended type being Online.

You can choose additional options for submitting an Assignment Online from one of these 3 options:

Text Entry: Submitting by typing a message

Website URL: Submitting by attaching a website URL

File Uploads: Submitting by uploading files (in this section, you can set additional settings to limit the files to be uploaded to a specific file extension as specified).

5. Limit Submission Attempts

You can limit the number of times a student can submit an assignment by selecting "Allow Attempts" as Limited and setting the desired number of allowed attempts.

If you want students to be able to submit assignments an unlimited number of times, you can choose "Allow Attempts" as Unlimited.

6. Due Date Configuration

You can set the assignment deadline by going to the Due section, then click on the calendar icon to choose the date and time for submission. The Available from and Until sections refer to enabling the assignment from the specified date to the specified date.
